Doesn’t work and makes your computer do weird things
Here is an entry log from the console: com.apple.xpc.launchd[1]: (com.tantrumsolutions.PreschoolAnimalMatchOSX.54112[26942]) Service exited with abnormal code: 173
The program opens full-screen so young fingers cant accidentally click in the wrong place. Each card has a verbal indicator, and you can easily change between four and 24 cards for more of a challenge. There dont appear to be many other options besides that, however. Developers, I would like to ask a few feature requests: 1) Use a custom mouse cursor, since the regular Mac cursor is a little small and doesnt match the rest of the artwork 2) Can sounds be toggled somehow, other than muting the system sounds?
My daughter (now 21 months old) has been loving this game! A few points: 1. Its very straight forward and easy to grasp, while visually enticing for a toddler. 2. You can set the difficulty very low (as low as 4 tiles!!), which helps to not overwhelm a beginner. 3. The sounds are sharp, cute, and memorable. 4. Objects are large enough for little hands to click on. 5. The app runs full screen without risk of extraneous input releasing your child on the rest of your computer :) My daughter has been playing this game for a month or so now, and she runs to the computer any opportunity we give her. Her memory, as well as hand eye coordination, have definitely been improving rapidly. Were moving up the difficulty accordingly. Kids are sponges, let em soak it up!
My 3 year old loves these games both this one and the alphabet one. Great program only allows for comand promt closing which means no accidental colsings. The only gripe I could find with this one is the choice of animals and heavy accent in the pronouncing the names have caused problems with her recconizing exactly what the animals are. The alphabet one does not seem to have this problem as she pronounces those just fine.
Great memory game! My almost 2-year old loves playing it. He points at the screen and I flip the piece for him. We thought the IPad version would be even better, but found tricky to interact with (double tapping causes the pieces to spin back to their original location - hopefully this will be fixed in the future).
Good One
good interacting app. Love the simplicity.
a great little App for my 2.5 year old Grand Daughter. Thank you! helps her on her letters on the computer keyboard, as well as animal recognition, and memory by rote. Yes, the accents are different, but since she also likes Dora and Diego, she has no issues with different sounding words.
can i use settings without an apple keyboard? and… i cannot seem to get past the first level, all it shows is replay. should i wait longer while it keeps naiming the animals?
